Big weekend!

I am exhausted from this past weekend but there are some super cute pics that I just had to post. Amy, Erin and Laura Lee were all in town to hang out with your's truly. They may have also wanted to visit with Mom but I am pretty sure that I was the primary reason for the visit. Mom is cool but she really can't compete with my cuteness. It was a great weekend for me. Instead of 2 adults at my beck and call I had 5 adults to do my bidding. Life is good. Will write more soon but right now I need a nap. For now enjoy the greatest hits from the weekend. Someone hold me please. Don't make me start crying!

Riley

It's important to stay protected from the sun. My skin is very sensitive. Plus, it's never too soon to start worrying about wrinkles.

Enjoying getting to know the birthday girl - aka Laura Lee. She turned 16 again on Friday. I am honored she chose to celebrate with me.

Hanging out at dinner.

Posing with the girls! They are a good looking group. Just don't get blinded by Mom's legs. Seriously, get some sun.

Here I am taking a nap in Amy's arms. It's tiring being this cute!

July Post

Sorry I have been so delinquent in blogging but it has been a busy few weeks. Last week Mom and I went to Austin to stay with Mema and Grando. We didn't completely abandon Dad - he was in LA for work. Got to pay for my cute outfits! Looking this good doesn't come cheaply.

Anyway, it was a busy week. The highlight was meeting Cousin Blake for the first time. Since he is older, he showed me the ways of the world. We also liked to play this fun game where we would both start crying at the same time and see how many adults would come running. Good times.

I met lots of Mom's friends as well and the grandmothers of Tanbark Cove. On Sunday Dad drove us to San Antonio to meet his aunt and granny. They are my great aunt and great granny. So I am quite the world traveler now - Houston, Austin, San Antonio. Makes me tired just thinking about it.

Thanks Mema for taking care of me for the past week. Don't know what Mom and I would have done without you. Hope you have gotten some sleep. And sorry about the spit up on your clothes, your couch, your rug...

Enjoy the pictures below!

Riley

Posing in my new outfit. Notice the matching socks and hat. Yup - Mema put this together.

Mom and Mema think I look precious, but Dad thinks that the bow counts as child abuse.

Meeting Blake for the first time. He is a whole 11 days older so I have lots to learn from him. But I wish that he would stop hitting me in the face!

Mema had her hand fulls with Blake and me. She changed lots of diapers. She is a good Mema but needs to learn some new songs - it's not really the season for Jingle Bells.

I met alot of family on this trip. This is me chilling with my great aunt Becky. She may not babysit but she buys me LOTS of cute clothes.

I have grown a whole inch since birth. In one of my many new outfits - thanks Mema!

My great aunt Jody was in San Antonio all the way from Denver. It was so fun to meet her and my great granny.

Cousin Blake and I both know the importance of accessorizing - thus the hats.

Week 2 Update

Week 2 of life was yet another eventful week. Mema left us but Granny N came in her place to help Mommy and Daddy take care of me. I like having 3 adults at my beck and call. Sadly she had to leave as well so now I just have Mommy and Daddy to do my bidding.

Went to the pediatrician on Thursday and I am still quite petite. I am only in the 10th percentile in weight. So I have to gain some weight if I want to wear the cute clothes in my closet. Oddly enough, Mommy has the opposite problem.

Yesterday I celebrated my first 4th of July. I celebrated by staying up all night long.

Below are some of the greatest hits from week 2. Here is to another great week of eating, pooping and sleeping!

Riley

Here I am getting in some tummy time. It's never too early to start an exercise routine.

I look quite angelic in this photo. Two important facts about this picture - 1. I am asleep and 2. It is nighttime.

Here I am with Aunt Erin. She came all the way from New York. I don't know where that is yet but I am sure it's a cool place.

This is me chilling with Daddy. We were watching tv and Mommy was bothering us with the camera. It's hard to be this cute - the paparazzi is everywhere.

And they say babies don't smile. Hah.

Riley the elephant

These pictures were too cute not to post immediately. Still don't understand how it can take two people to bathe such a tiny baby!

More Photos!

Just a few photos from my first week of life. So far it's been a pretty good life. Looking forward to what next week brings!

- Miss Priss

Aren't I precious???

Here I am meeting Grando. He was explaining the "bend but don't break" defensive philosophy of football.

Here I am at the hospital with Grandma G and Aunt Samantha. I am very well loved!

Sleeping on Mom's chest after we finally made it home from the hospital. I like my new home so far. Although I am not so sure about that cat...

This is me chilling in my crib. The bunny in the background is the "Betty bunny". Betty was a good friend of Mom's who passed away last fall. Our good friend Carol was kind enough to continue the "Betty bunny" tradition.

This was after my first bath. While I like being clean I wasn't all that thrilled with the bathing experience.

I got all dressed up for my first doctor's appointment. Even though it was 101 degrees outside, Mema still insisted that I wear the hat so I didn't get cold. The bow is bigger than my head.

I only sleep when someone is holding me. It's good to be the queen.

Me with Mom on my one week birthday. She celebrated the day by putting on actual clothes.

She's Here!

We are celebrating Riley's one week of life today and I realized that I haven't updated the blog. Apparently being a mother to a newborn is quite time consuming! Miss Priss made her arrival on Thursday, June 18th at 8:24 am - guess she didn't get the memo that Mom is not a mornig person. She weighed in at 7 pounds, 2 ounces and was 19 inches long.

I will say one thing for my child, she knows how to make an entrance! We checked into the hospital at 10 pm on Wednesday, June 17th to get the induction started. After being hooked to countless monitors and taking some drugs designed to get the process rolling, I was given my Ambien and was off to sleep. Thank goodness for the Ambien - I pretty much missed out on all the excitement that night. I was woken several times by the nurses and the on-call doctor - they kept moving me around, sticking an oxygen mask on me, and shooting me up with some drug in the shoulder. Thanks to the drugs I found this all mildly annoying and didn't understand what was going on. Barrett wasn't so lucky and earned his Daddy badge that night by staying awake all night in a chair staring at the monitors. To make a long story short, Miss Priss' heart rate would plummet every time I would have a contraction. I wasn't even aware that I was having contractions! Finally my doctor was called and it was decided that an emergency c-section was in order. Thirty terrifying minutes later and Miss Priss had entered the world. She is perfectly healthy and quite the beauty, if I do say so myself.

Okay, enough from me. I will now turn this over to Miss Priss.

In the hospital on Wednesday - say goodbye to the bump!

First family portrait. Doesn't Dad look cool in his mask??? Very McDreamy like!

Being held by Mema. If you want to hold me you have to take a number - Mema rarely lets me down! She has been with us all week and Mom and I would not have survived without her!
